Thankful

Thankful to all that support us and waiting orphans in prayer and donations and encouraging words. Thankful for the people of Winneconne Christian Fellowship and Pastor Dan. They don't even know us but their love for orphans pours out. They had us come and speak about our last adventure and our new adventure to come. And then they blessed us! They were so kind and giving!! Through their donations, we are able to put a big dent in our home study fees. This time around our home study will be double of what it was last time due to changes requiring all studies to now be Haque approved. So we are looking at $4,000. For just the home study. This time around we also have to have clearances from all the states we have lived in since we were 18! Well for us, this is a lot of states!! I believe we are still waiting for clearance from one last state. Meanwhile everything is delayed and our little boys sit in a crib day after day unaware that someday they will have a family and love, attention, enough food and medical care. It is so hard having them wait. We are praying that the 4 year old can continue to stay at the baby house or he will not survive long at the adult mental facility he is to go to. Again age 4 is a sad time for these kids. My heart breaks thinking about the things that Sergei endured. Going without food, never leaving his crib, being locked away from visitors and volunteers because he was in the laying down room where no one is allowed to go in or see except maybe the one employee that goes in once a day to see who is dead and prop a bottle for the day, which sometimes falls and then no food for that day either. No clothes, sheets or bedding, no comforting or help. So many kids never escape this death sentence. We pray more people will become aware of the plight of these disabled children in Eastern Europe. We will continue to FIGHT 4 Freedom 4 Orphans!! Please visit www.reecesrainbow.org and help a child or family! Thank you! We are thankful for all!www.reecesrainbow.org/sponsorharlin-2

Turning 4

Here in the US, turning 4 years old is a fun event with lots to celebrate! Kids are learning so many new things and getting ready for preK or 5K for the next year! They are learning to be independent. But in Eastern Europe, turning 4 can be a death sentence for the disabled orphan. This is the time when children are removed from the baby house (orphanage) to the mental institution. Everything they have ever known instantly gone! Kids that aren't mobile are now imprisoned in a crib, and might have been at the baby house too, but this is far worse...they are now in the laying down room..aka..the dying room. About 80% don't survive the first year after transfer. This week we became aware of a 4 year old that was going to be transferred to a very bad mental institution. He is very similar to Sergei and can't sit or get around. If a family can get there in the next few months the director at the baby house will try to keep him there.....so here we come!! Pray for paperwork and needed funds and other things come through quickly and we can be on our way! Praying this little boy does not need to endure horrible suffering and starvation! Even though we were planning on a girl, a God has a different plan! Thanks for support in prayers and donations! Want to donate? It is tax deductible!! Www.reecesrainbow.org/sponsorharlin-2

Here you will be able to see our other little boy!

November is national adoption month

Sergei in June on a boat ride...celebrating freedom from life in a crib!

Crosby in September...growing so much!

Sergei on his way to the Down Syndrome Awareness Walk!

November is National Adoption month! If you ever thought about adoption...go for it! It always seems overwhelming but take it one step at a time and get it done! You will be so blessed! It isn't easy but worth all the hard work! Children in the US and all over the world need a family! Step out in faith and be that family! If you just cant adopt, support it! Sponsor a child or a family, provide respite care or be a foster parent and of course prayers are the most needed!!!

We are so blessed. We are invited to speak and share at a church next week! Hope we can plant some seeds or encourage others. A little nervous....
