Almost there and adding one more!

Thanks for hanging in there with me. I am horrible with technology and find some of these simple things hard to do, hence the horrible lack of pictures! We have added Crosby also from Eastern Europe to our family to be. This little guy just turned one and melts our hearts too! He has Downs Syndrome, so this will be another new adventure and learning experience for us!! He is in a different area than Sergey, so this will take more time from work and more travel and lodging expense. So onward we go!

Back to our original adoption stories......Next we were blessed with a little boy about 6 months old. His head was bigger than an adults head. Possible shaken baby but not enough proof of which family member that he was with might have done it. 2 shunts in his head. At first he was given to a relative in the middle of nowhere Arizona. And they did not take him back to the neurologist for follow up appointments and then he came down with a bad cold....praise God the worker finally went to see him and decided he needed to be in a foster home closer to doctors. So he came with just the little outfit he was in and his poor enlarged head. We went to the doctor immediately and his shunts were both plugged...very dangerous with all the blood and fluid collecting in his head and causing pressure. He had surgery right away and new shunts placed in his head. His doctor had never seen that much bleeding on a brain. He did very well after his surgery and we learned all about shunts and how to check them to make sure they were working. He loved my sons skateboard even though he was way too little. It was one of his first words...no brain damage long term!  A little miracle! He was with us for over a year and his birth parents completed what they had to do so on he went back to his original family! Once again we said goodbye and prayed his parents could cope and handle this sweet boy. In the meantime we had a call to take a tiny baby..born at28 weeks weighing 2 pounds at birth and again drug exposed in the womb. She came to us at 4 pounds and slept and ate and grew! Again search for relatives was taking place. Possible placement with paternal grandma but wrong dad so she was out of the picture. Mom was not interested and no other relatives...so this is our Maddie. She is now 10 and looks like she might be 6 feet tall as an adult! She loves to dance and cannot wait for little brothers! When our guy with the shunts left, we decided to take a break from fostering....so 3 weeks went by, which I thought was a break when the phone rang again!! This time a bay boy needed a home that day, being discharged from the hospital... Five days old!  I tried to call my husband...did not have texting at this time and he was in an all day meeting and did not get a chance to call me back. They also said that they only needed a home for 2 weeks and then his grandma was going to take him...ok sounds good! My oldest son and I went to the hospital to pick him up....so exciting! He didn't have a name so his worker said just to pick out something and it would be fine because he would be leaving in 2 weeks and he wouldn't know the difference. I told my son to pick out a name and he picked Max. Now Max is 9 years old and it really wasn't 2 weeks at all but a lifetime commitment...lol. This is our surprise baby since my husband didn't know about him until he came home from work that one day. We also had a few short term babies while paperwork was completed so they could go to their preselected adoptive homes...wanted to make sure everything was 100% on the adoption before placing the babies with their new families! And here we are today hoping to try another route to adoption....out of our comfort zone we go. We are hoping to travel the first part of February! This will make number 8 and 9! Again thank you for your time and funding! We truly appreciate every gift! I will try to get some help so I can add in some picks. Again you can sponsor us at www.reecesrainbow.org/sponsorharlin ....tax deductible...God is good all the time!
